About Subway

Our Story...

In 1987, we came to Redding, fell in love with the area and started looking for a location to open a Subway Sandwich and Salad Franchise.

In 1988, we became the northern-most Subway location in California.

Running our first store in the Raley's Shopping Center on Hartnell Avenue consisted of the two of us working 110 hours each per week for a total of 220 hours every week for the first six months with the help of a great part-time staff to try to establish the Subway name in Redding.

Due to our northern remote location, Subway Corporate had not set up any merchandising delivery system to us, nor had they established any advertising fund for this area. Therefore, we had to contract a private trucking company to bring us our merchandise, and we had to personally do all our own marketing promotion and donations.

With hard work, coupled with a focus on customer satisfaction, clean stores and quality products, we were able to have a successful beginning.

Focusing on expansion, we opened our second Subway store within our first year and a half, and our third one opened the following year.

We now have a successful chain of Subways linking from Willows (South of Chico) to Red Bluff to Anderson to Redding. We're 17 Subways strong and still growing thanks to our community acceptance and a wonderful customer base that has supported Subway!

The community has been extremely receptive, and our customers have been wonderful to us!

Community Involvement...

A High Priority

We love the Northern California area and have enjoyed participating in a number of school activities such as Sober Grad Night, yearbooks, athletic programs, et cetera as well as selected non-profit fundraisers that benefit our customers and their families.

Thank you for partnering with us to make our community a better place to work and play!
